Guggenheim comes to the 718

They came from Brooklyn:

The Walkmen. High Places. The Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band. Colson Whitehead. Leo Allen.

These are the Brooklyn-centric acts that have been tapped to kick off the Guggenheim's "It Came From Brooklyn" series on August 14, a monthly series that acknowledges Brooklyn's cultural renaissance.

The next installment on September 25 will feature music from Julian Plenti (aka Paul Banks of Interpol) and I'm In You, readings from Rivka Galchen and Hampton Fancher, and comedian Eugene Mirman confirmed as the MC.

Who would you pick to represent the borough's music and literary scenes?
