Where does your fashion allegiance lie?

This weekend, two fashion festivals are coming to Williamsburg.

The longer running of the two, Williamsburg Fashion Weekend, now in its sixth season, comes to Secret Project Robot September 18 and 19, with shows on Racecar! by Nettie Tiso (offering designs for both men and women); Erin Weckerle (for Sodafine) and Sirius* (for Treehouse, Brooklyn).

The second, newcomer Brooklyn Fashion Festival, will be held the same nights at another borough newcomer, Knitting Factory, featuring shows by +AA-, James Yoest, Andoha, Jade, and Kallisti.

Both promise a convergence of art and culture, featuring up-and-coming local designers on the runway, as well as music and performance art, so you might find yourself darting back and forth to not miss the action. But if you think with your wallet, like we tend to do, WFW is free, while BFF tickets costs range from $12.50 to $17. And hey, the recession only ended Tuesday.
