Loved Druid’s production of “The Walworth Farce” last year at St. Ann’s Warehouse?

Ireland’s premiere company returns to the Brooklyn stage this season with more powerful storytelling in Enda Walsh’s “The New Electric Ballroom.”

St. Ann’s Artistic Director Susan Feldman saw the production last summer at Edinburgh Fringe, where it won a First Award, and knew she needed to find it a New York home.

From October 27-November 22, it has just that, as the DUMBO theater gives the American premiere of what The New York Times has called Walsh’s “most intoxicating and original piece of writing.”

A companion piece to “The Walworth Farce,” which also made its American premiere at St. Ann’s in April 2008, “Ballroom” unfolds in a small fishing town on the west coast of Ireland, where, night after night, two aging sisters re-enact a night in the early ‘60s with a seductive rock singer at the New Electric Ballroom. On this particular night enters Patsy, the fish monger, and the night takes a new turn.

Find out what happens when “The New Electric Ballroom” comes to St. Ann’s Warehouse (38 Water St.). Tickets range from $27 to $68. For more information, call 718-254-8779.
