Chorus of joyous harmonies

Whenever there's a tree lighting this holiday season, it seems like a safe bet that you can expect to see the Brooklyn Youth Chorus.

In case you've missed them thus far, the chorus continues to welcome the holidays, with an eclectic mix of holiday songs and choral masterpieces old and new in two concerts.

On December 18, the Grammy Award-winning group presents its annual Holiday Harmonies concerts, featuring the Concert Chorus, Young Men’s Ensemble and Junior Chorus. On December 19 they're at it again, this time featuring the Concert Chorus, Young Men’s Ensemble and Intermediate Division.

The programs include works by Johann Haydn, Ernani Aguiar, Jackson Berkey, John Rutter, Moses Hogan, Paul Halley, and more.

Tickets are $35 and $15; $10 for children under 12 and seniors.There will also be a Training Division Matinee, December 19 at 1:30 p.m. featuring works by Johannes Brahms, Randall Thompson, Andrew Lloyd Weber and Joe Raposo. Tickets for this are $15; $10 for children under 12 and seniors. Both shows are at 7:30 p.m.

All three concerts take place at Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral, 113 Remsen Street in Brooklyn Heights (entrance on Henry Street). For more, call 800-595-4849.
