The Weekend: 3-5-3.7

Another weekend is upon us, and spring feels right around the corner. There's lots to do to celebrate, and get moving this weekend. Here's a look at what's happening in a neighborhood near you.

Friday, March 5

Hoedown: Send out the winter with the Brooklyn Winter Hoedown, a weekend of acoustic sounds at Superfine in DUMBO. Tonight's lineup features The Whistling Wolves, Jan Bell and Vincent Cross and Good Company. At 9 pm. Free. Located at 126 Front St.

Theater: Brave New World Repertory is known for their site-specific work (take, for instance, "The Tempest" on the waterfront this past fall). This weekend, they take to the Old Stone House in Park Slope for "The Crucible." It'll blow any production you've seen before out of the water. Tonight at 8 pm. Tickets $18. Located at Fifth Avenue between Third & Fourth streets.

Bowlive: Soulive's residency is going strong at Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg. Tonight, among their special guests, is Q-Tip. He'll be doing a DJ set after the trio take the stage, so you can party late into the night. At 9 pm. Tickets $12. Located at 51 Wythe Ave.

Saturday, March 6

Art: Bushwick is already a pretty artsy community. That's ten-fold this weekend, as SITE Fest takes over the neighborhood, with over 100 acts at 35 venues. You'll be set for the month. From 1-9 pm today and tomorrow. Locations vary.

Birthday: It's a party for Bob Marley tonight, as the Knitting Factory in Williamsburg celebrates the late singer with a party featuring NY Ska-Jazz Ensemble, the Blue Beats, Hey Stranger, and Freddy Loco. At 7 pm. Tickets $10 in advance, $12 day of show. Located at 361 Metropolitan Ave.

Sunday, March 7

Oscars: Watch the Oscars with Gabe & Jenny tonight at the Bell House in Gowanus, as the comedy duo host an awards show party with live, scathing commentary. It'll most likely be funnier than anything your friends will say. At 7 pm. Free. Located at 149 7th St.

Jank!: Party people Gemini & Scorpio host this party with Sxip Shirey at House of Yes in Bushwick. From the organizers: "Remember that *ridiculous* brass-fueled live dance music set by Sxip Shirey & Raya Brass Band at our Halloween Masquerade Macabre party? The one that sent the whole packed loft into a heaving dancing frenzy? Well THAT is what we're turning into a brand new dance party. Hellsyeah." Hellsyeah. At 8 pm. Tickets $10-$15. Located at 342 Maujer St.
